米国微生物学会の発行するオンラインジャーナルであるmBio誌において複合培養に関するコメントが載りました。正確には同号に掲載された別の論文に関して、放線菌遺伝学の世界的権威である英国のD. A. Hopwood教授が紹介した commentaryなのですが、その中で”A particularly striking example of such a discovery is the report by Onaka et al. (7) that certain mycolic acid-containing bacteria, themselves members of the Corynebacteriaceae family of Actinobacteria, stimulate antibiotic production when grown in association with an actinomycete, a technique they called “combined culture."と我々の複合培養に関する研究を高く評価していただきました。今後も、これを糧に、この機構の分子レベルでの解析を鋭意進め、論文を発表していきたいと思います。
